Leeds City Museum is the museum I have visited the most here in Leeds. It has rich collection, it’s highly interactive and it has interesting special exhibitions and lovely staff. Oh AND it’s free, how can it be more close to people’s heart than this?

Joseph Wright, a name you might not be familiar with. He caught my eye because the fact that there is a German, English, French and Chinese translation of his wikipedia page means he is known internationally. Also I thought I can, at least, have an easy read in Chinese. Little did I know, I would find a fantastic story of an English philologist who rose from humble origins to become Professor of Comparative Philology at Oxford University and a great influencer of The Lord of the Ring’s author J. R. R Tolkien.
