A new website has launched that aims to showcase the best of the independent retail scene here in Leeds. IndependentLeeds.com will feature some of the amazing independent fashion, food, health and beauty and events that are happening in Leeds right now.
This project is a collaboration between Leeds Retail Association, Hebe Media and SLB PR and has involved students from Leeds College of Art. Within the partnership, Hebe Media worked with LCA students Kim Sandford and Ellis Thynne on the brand identity and website and with students Georgia Scott and Lily Tidy on some of the initial content. Moving forward students from a range of degree courses at Leeds Metropolitan University (LMU) are also going to be involved with generating and updating content for the website.
The site also features the Independent Fullstop map which lists hundreds of Independent businesses and events in Leeds.
SLB PR will now be managing the brand and website, creating awareness for Independent Leeds businesses regionally and nationally. A Facebook page will be launched to provide a forum for businesses to share information and provide a conduit between the LRA; Leeds City Council and independent owners.
David Laycock, Chair of Leeds Retail Association said
‘We have created Independent Leeds to build on and celebrate Leeds already strong reputation for independent businesses. This Best City initiative was conceived, and is driven by, the true spirit of partnership with a dedicated focus on working closely with the independent businesses to give them a cool Leeds site that reflects their character, creativity and difference.”
“I am very proud to be part of this partnership that profiles the independent sector and sets our City apart from others….a real jewel in the Leeds crown”
